Hart Davis Hart is looking for someone with great organizational and analytical skills to join their team. Prior knowledge of wine is not essential.

The position involves data management (cataloging wines, valuations, organizing and administering information for other departments, tracking data changes), as well as some tasks that are analogous to archives work (communicating with clients about consignment, ensuring provenance, etc).

Position: Consignment Operations Associate (full-time, entry level position with opportunity for advancement)

The Consignment Operations department is the nerve center of our business, overseeing internal data related to finding, getting, receiving, processing, and selling consignments of wine from clients.  As a member of this team, the Consignment Operations Associate plays a large part in making sure that all consignments are properly cataloged, priced, and proofread.

Exceptional attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to self-direct are extremely important.  Clear and timely communication with clients concerning list receipt, appraisal status, consignments, and contractual documentation is imperative.

Prior wine knowledge isn’t necessary, but the Associate must be willing to learn about wine and the wine market in order to become proficient at creating valuations of wine collections.  The Associate also helps out during auctions and by occasionally travelling on collection trips.

Qualifications:

– Attention to detail and good organizational and analytical skills
– Ability to manage and prioritize projects, multi-task, and self-direct in a fast-paced environment
– Must have excellent problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills, initiative, and creativity
– Good command of English language and rules of grammar
– Ability to work with custom database program and with Microsoft Office applications
